Amanda is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Licensed Clinical Addiction Counselor. She received her Bachelor of Arts and Master of Social Work from Indiana University.
Amanda has been a social worker for over twenty years. Her recent focus has been providing individual counseling for adults experiencing grief, life changes, stress, and depression. Prior to her work as an individual practitioner, she worked as an addiction counselor in intensive outpatient programs, as well as a mental health professional for incarcerated individuals. Before her clinical therapy work, she started her career working in nonprofit organizations, first as an advocate at a domestic violence shelter and later facilitating conflict resolution and team building for Indianapolis youth.
Amanda’s approach to counseling is with compassion and non-judgement, meeting clients where they’re at, and exploring the goals that are important to them. She is trained in grief therapy, shame resilience, cognitive behavioral therapy, and solution focused therapy.
In her spare time, she enjoys reading and spending time with her family, friends, and three cats.
